GENERAL Why is SIXTI so inexpensive? SIXTI avoids expensive distribution channels, travel agency commissions, expensive station equipment and costly services - this all contributes to enable us to offer you cars at extremely low rates. Is the SIXTI Online Booking secure? All personal information exchanged between your web browser and our server may be encrypted using SSL. Why do the rates differ dependent on the day of rental and day booked? The rental rates are dependent on the availability of the cars and the current fleet situation at the location. Generally we can say: the earlier you book, the lower the rate. Why should I book early? The earlier you book, the better we can plan our fleet allocation. We would like to pass this planning advantage on to you in the form of especially low rates. Is online booking safe? Certainly we forward all personal data as well as information on the payment method selected through a safe channel (SSL encoding) to our rental system.
BOOKING How can I book my car? Please use our booking tool in Internet or using the hotlines. Which services are included in the basic rental rate? Included in the basic rental rate are the local taxes dependent on the country, free miles depending on the country and group, as well as the legal liability insurance. What is the minimum rental length? The minimum rental length is one day. What is the maximum rental length? The maximum rental length is 21 days. Are reservation changes possible? Reservation changes can be made by using at the number: +49 180/5 22 29 20 (0,12€/min). Detailed information on the reservation change procedure can be found in our rental terms and conditions. Can I cancel my booking? A cancellation is not possible after the cancellation deadline has expired. Are there age limits? Age regulations are dependant on the country. Please regard the rental terms and conditions of the country you wish to rent in. Which insurances are offered at the time of rental? The rental rate includes the legally prescribed liability insurance. For a safe trip, we recommend selecting the Loss Damage Waiver. In addition SIXTI can offer you the choice of personal passenger insurance. For insurance prices please see our information on rental bookings or our rental terms and conditions. Which extra costs may apply to my rental? An exact overview of all extra costs that may apply before, during or after the rental can be found in our rental terms and conditions. Which payment methods are accepted? Rentals can only be made with a valid credit card. The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard (Master Card), Visa, Diners Club and American Express. Bank Cards such as Debit cards are not accepted. Are One Way rentals possible? One Way rentals are not possible; i.e. the rental pickup and return locations must be the same. Why can't I receive a rate estimate? We recheck the availability of the car on each booking request automatically. Should the SIXTI station be fully booked, we will advise you on this. How much are the costs for extra mileage/kilometers? Included in the daily rate are a limited number of free kilometers, depending on the rental location. For each additional kilometer driven, we will charge a kilometer fee that is shown within each booking.
RENTAL AT LOCATION Can I also rent a car directly at the rental location? Certainly you may also rent your rental car directly at one of our stations. Please check our rental terms and conditions. Which documents must I present at the rental station? The hard-copy of the reservation confirmation, valid credit card (as indicated when making the reservation the driver/person collecting the vehicle and credit card holders must be identical), valid driving licence for all registered drivers (must apply to vehicles with manual transmission ), a valid passport with at least 3 months remaining or a valid identity card of an European Union country. Can I change my booking data at the rental location? Yes, changes are also possible when checking out the car at the location. (changes to the credit card details, the name of the hirer/person collecting the vehicle as well as the duration of the hire) Please take into account the fees applicable on booking changes.
DURING THE RENTAL May I travel to foreign countries with my rental car? Journeys abroad with SIXTI cars are permitted with the exception of rentals in Great Britain in certain countries. Please refer to our renting conditions for a valid country list. Must I pay traffic violations during my rental? Should any fees for traffic violations be incurred during the rental, these must be charged to you in full. Sixti is allowed to charge the renter a fine handling fee. Please refer to our rental conditions for further details. What should be done in case of an accident?With regards to an accident, theft, fire, damage caused by game or other damage please consult the police and fill out the damage form which can be found in the vehicle. This is also valid for minor damages and accidents where the claimant is himself at fault without the involvement of a third party. The damage report must be forwarded to us in writing within 24 hours.
CAR RETURN Must I return the car fully tanked? Vehicles are handed over with any given amount of fuel. This is registered on the rental documentation. The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel. Should the fuel level be lower than this, SIXTI will charge the cost of the refueled petrol and/or diesel to the average market price as well as a refuelling charge. For the amount of the fee chargeable please see our renting conditions. Costs of refuelling the vehicle cannot be returned.
